Woman health supplement
Although known as God’s best creation, a woman life is far from being rosy. Be it menstrual cycles, pregnancy, ordeals of child birth or menopause a woman’s life is full of hardships. Iron tablets:
Women of reproductive age often suffer from low RBC count in their body because of their menstrual cycles every month. Thus more often than not they are anemic. Such woman can benefit from multivitamin tablet with iron. This replaces the loss of iron and thereby increases their blood count. It also makes them more energetic.
Calcium supplements:
Most women suffer from calcium deficiency which later can result in osteoporosis. As long as there is continual estrogen production calcium deficiency does not arise. Hence women above the age thirty five are at risk and hence need extra intake of calcium (1,000 mg of calcium everyday). However some women do take estrogen, they require only 1,000 mg of calcium everyday.
Vitamin supplements:
Most women have tender breasts especially during pregnancy and menopause. Vitamin E supplement comes in handy to such women. Few woman take as high as 1,000 IU (international units) per day to gain immediate relief. But such high intake can lead to side effects like irritability, bloated stomach, oily skin and such. Hence a reduced intake of 400 IU is recommended which reduces breast discomfort minus side effects.
Some PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) symptoms have been linked to low levels of vitamins and minerals. Such women find Vitamin B6 very useful.
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association taking prenatal vitamins by women for six weeks or more before getting pregnant provided some protection against neural tube defects to the baby. Reduced folic acid in body can lead to such conditions which is where vitamin supplements come in handy.
